AMD Music and Arts Institute

With Austin’s being the “Live Music Capital of the World” there is a large population of aspiring youth who want to become accomplished musicians, singers or producers but many of them do not have the resources or funds for musical training. The Austin Area Urban League announces the AMD Music & Arts Institute, a new collaboration with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE: AMD) to train and educate individuals who have the aspirations of accomplishing their musical dreams!

This opportunity is being provided free of charge, thanks to a generous three-year investment from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) of $250,000.00. This project is designed specifically to serve Austin’s disadvantaged youth (10-18 years). The AAUL believes that it can help these youth transition into meaningful educational opportunities and cutting-edge self-sufficiency skills, with the proper resources and a caring environment.

The ultimate goal of the AMD Music & Arts Institute at Austin Area Urban League is to increase the opportunities for disadvantaged youth musicians to receive musical instruction in piano, theory as well as digital media and music production, recording and composition. The program also expects to provide musical instruction for adults for a fee.
